The guided busway has a bus stop on the North east edge of Sawston, close to the recent completed development of houses called the Hawthorn’s.  There is no parking here and the stop is only accessible on foot to residents close to the Dales Manor Business Park.  For most of the 8,000 residents of Sawston the stop is too far to walk to be practical.

There will be a level crossing on the Babraham road interrupting traffic heading east out of Sawston to the A505/A11 and Babraham, including the Breedon cement lorries which use this as their main route away from Sawston village.

GCP's route runs parallel to the disused Haverhill to Cambridge railway for about a mile, close enough to prevent the railway being reinstated - but doesn't use the new Cambridge City Football stadium as a bus stop, where their large car park would make the stop accessible to all residents of Sawston.

Heading Northwest the route crosses the greenbelt towards Stapleford Granary. A new bridge over the river Granta is required south of Stapleford granary. This creates a series of small parcels of land along the West of the busway which are ripe for development and additional housing

In contrast, the alternatives proposed by BW4B! improve the bus service along the A1307; do no damage to the green belt, while reinstating the Cambridge to Haverhill railway. With a new station at Cambridge City Football Club, using their large car park, provides fast access to Cambridge for commuters and football fans alike.

There is a better way!
