The guided bus stop in Great Shelford is on Hinton Way, a mile northwest of the village centre and inaccessible to most of the 4,500 residents of Shelford. This compares with the convenience of the existing Shelford train station with its 7 minute connection to Cambridge. Even faster to the new Cambridge South station for Addenbrooke's

See map.

Shelford already has the main line from Cambridge to Liverpool Street.  This already offers a 7 minute connection to Cambridge but also results in significant delays to East West road traffic.

CSET requires new crossings on Hinton Way and Granhams Road which will cause more delays for all road users.

GCP's proposed route passes on an embankment very close to the environmentally sensitive Nine Wells Local Nature Reserve. Hobson's Conduit Trust have consistently stated their grave concerns about GCP's present CSET scheme. These include the serious impacts on the natural habitat and potential damage to the hydrogeology at and around Nine Wells.

In contrast the alternatives proposed by BW4B! improve the bus service along the A1307 and the dedicated road into CBC and have no negative impact on residents in Shelford. See map.

There is a better way!
